Spokane, WA – Are you ready to be more than just a show stacker? KXLY-TV in Spokane is looking for the next great producer to not only create and execute a vision for our 11pm newscast, but also to manage a team of experienced journalists. We’re looking for an engaged, energetic newshound to become our nightside Executive Producer. We want someone who knows how to do more than simply stack a show. We want someone with vision who wants to win across all platforms. You’ll be responsible for our late newscast, as well as directing and populating social media at kxly.com. You’ll work with a team of MMJ’s and three of the market’s most experienced anchors. You’ll be part of a management team that supports each other and feels more like family. And, you’ll join a team that believes in journalism, context and community in one of the Northwest’s hidden gems.

TITLE: Executive News Producer
HOURS: Full Time; Nightside shift
REPORTS TO: Executive News Director

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise the evening operation of the newsroom and guide coverage across all platforms
Creative leader for the look, pace, content, and style of newscast
Write and edit news stories for newscasts
Review and approve writing and production of reporter stories
Lead content publishing efforts for station website and social media
Ensure product stays on-brand across multiple platforms
Develop and set coverage expectations in conjunction with other news managers

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
4-yr degree in Journalism, Communications or related course of study
2 years TV news producing experience
Computer literacy, including newsroom computer systems, digital publishing, and social media
Possess strong broadcast and AP style writing skills and sound news judgment
Able to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
Excellent project-management skills and constant attention to detail
Thorough knowledge of media law
