New low and medium AXIOM Master FM Antennas have been brought to market by Electronics Research Inc. (ERI).

Making their official debut at the 2017 NAB Show in Las Vegas, ERI’s broadband side mounted AXIOM Master FM Antenna family has been expanded with two models for lower power applications.

The LPA and MPA Series AXIOM Master FM Antennas are rated for a combined input power of 15 kW and 39 kW respectively. These are simple side mounted FM antenna based on ERI’s proprietary and field proven ROTOTILLER® FM antenna element. ERI offers 4, 8, 12, and 16-bay versions of the LPA and MPS Series AXIOM™ master FM antennas.

The AXIOM is a specially designed antenna system which provides high input power handling capability and can provide service as an auxiliary master FM antenna for systems that are limited to a band width requirement of up to 18 MHz of the FM Band (88 MHz to 108 MHz).  The antenna can be designed with a single RF input or can be configured as separate upper and lower antennas for higher power handling capability and redundancy.

The news came as ERI also introduced new medium and high power FM hybrid couplers at the 2017 NAB Show.

The new HY0241 and HY0244 are 3 dB, 90-degree FM Hybrid Couplers for combining the power of two or more FM transmitters. The Hybrid has a “cross-over” configuration and is also used in ERI’s constant impedance FM combiner systems and FM switched and switchless combiners.

The HY0241 is designed for Medium and High Power Applications and is available in configurations that included any combination of 3-1/8-inch, 4-1/16-inch and 6-1/8-inch Marman, Flanged, or Unflanged connections. The HY0244 is designed for Very High Power requirements and has models available with port connections from 3-1/8-inch through 9-3/16-inch.

Both models of hybrid have been carefully design to eliminate sharp edges and corners to maximize power and voltage handling capability. These hybrid designs are ideal for multi-station FM combining systems that include elevated digital power levels.
