Rush LimbaughCox Media Groups’ News/Talk WSB-AM/FM Atlanta is getting Rush Limbaugh from Clear Channel’s WGST-AM/FM in that market, effective 10/1. Limbaugh will be heard at his live airing weekdays from noon until 3 p.m.

“Rush is host of America’s No. 1 talk radio show, and it’s fitting that he will be on the No. 1 news/talk station in America,” said Ben Reed, Vice President and Market Manager for CMG Atlanta.  “With the addition of Rush to News/Talk WSB, the Neal Boortz Show will now air from 8:30 a.m. until noon.”

It was also announced that News/Talk WSB and Sean Hannity have entered a long-term agreement keeping WSB as his Atlanta home.

“Atlanta’s Evening News” returns weekdays 5 – 7 p.m. with traffic every six minutes led by Captain Herb Emory and the WSB Traffic Team, continuous breaking news, Atlanta’s most accurate and dependable weather with Chief Meteorologist Kirk Mellish and fast-paced, urgent commentary from Erick Erickson on the news Atlanta listeners may have missed while they were working.

The News/Talk WSB prime-time schedule effective Oct. 1 includes:

·         4:30 – 8:30 a.m.          Atlanta’s Morning News with Scott Slade

·        8:30 a.m. – Noon        Neal Boortz

·        Noon – 3 p.m.             Rush Limbaugh

·        3 – 5 p.m.                    Sean Hannity

·        5 – 7 p.m.                    Atlanta’s Evening News with Erick Erickson

Following the Clark Howard Show at 8 p.m. will be Adam Goldfein at 10 p.m.  Finally, the Dave Ramsey Show moves to midnights and weekends.

  1. Great move for WSB. I like WGST, but would lose Rush on the radio easier than WSB. Apparently WSB has a more powerful radio beam because I can pick them up from greater distance. Great for Atlanta.

  2. A more fitting headline would read “Big Radio Station Brags About Getting Right-Wing Demagogue”. Ask any of the 150 or so companies that do not want their ads anywhere near Limbaugh.

For what it’s worth, WSB is adding Limbaugh only because WGST plans to drop its longtime Right-Wing Radio format. A similar situation occurred in Boston last month.

  3. The bigger story is WGST begins pandering to illegal aliens by destroying the best format in Atlanta. I used to listen to WGST because it had such good programming. Now it is just another useless illegal alien oriented station. WGST should lose its license.
