This is a reminder FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert & Warning System office is planning a non-technical Webinar for station managers, owners, state emergency officials and others about its next regional EAS test.
The webinar is this Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 2 p.m. Eastern.
The next regional test, scheduled for Feb. 24 at 2:20 p.m. Eastern, covers 22 states and the District of Columbia. FEMA IPAWS has been conducting regional tests so stations can prepare for the next national EAS testing, now anticipated for December 2016.
FEMA IPAWS has been conducting regional testing using the new National Periodic Test (NPT) event code.
