Craig Fox Adds An AM In Syracuse

To radio historians, the call letters WFBL hold a place in the annals of Top 40’s greatest moments. From May 1979 to October 1980, WFBL-AM 1390 in Syracuse, N.Y., was “Fire 14” and became the first radio station to use legendary programming consultant Mike Joseph‘s “Hot Hits” format, which had been used to some success at WTIC-FM in Hartford prior to its national launch.

Today, WFBL is dark, and licensed for a directional, two-pattern 5kw signal from 3 towers.

As of April 19, WFBL is heading into the hands of Central New York radio operator Craig Fox.
