Pacific Broadcasting of Missouri will get something out of the sale of KYRK-FM Taft TX to Withers Family Texas Holdings, but mostly it will benefit by getting out from under a burden of debt. The buyer will be getting the station in return for forgiveness, for the most part.

The station is a C2 on 106.5 MHz with 50 kW @ 486’. It has no trouble blanketing Corpus Christi from a site across the water from the main part of town.

The value of the current deal is $178K. All but $10K of that will be in the form of debrt forgiveness.

The seller is headed by P. Stephen Bunyard; the buyer by James G. Withers.

The contract lists an LMA partner – Bogey Broadcasting LLC has a contract to work with the station as of 4/20/11.
KYRK is known as The Shark. A bare-bones under-renovation website says it plays “Killer hits of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s,” including work from The Black Crowes, Journey, Foo Fighters, Aerosmith, U2, Counting Crows, Def Leppard, Don Henley, Lenny Kravitz, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, Supertramp, Alice-In-Chains, Van Halen, Pat Benatar, Boston, Smashing Pumpkins , Eagles, Guns ‘N Roses, Sheryl Crow, Led Zeppelin, Wallflowers, Peter Gabriel, Police, Stone Temple Pilots, Bon Jovi, Matchbox 20, Green Day, Steve Miller Band, R.E.M., Red Hot Chili Peppers, ELO, Foreigner, Rush and others
