Leaving a show may be nothing but when it is all over the internet and media the publicity does not hurt and the ratings prove it. Conan may not have waxed David Letterman but he did clean the clock with the younger demo and this is the demo that will follow a personality wherever the go. So the new home for Conan later this year can look for a great shot out of the box and growing and going forward. Now will it be FOX the new home of Conan O’Brien?

NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien” has topped all broadcast and cable competition in the key late-night demographic of adults 18-49 for the week of January 18-22.  At 12:35 a.m. ET, “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” also delivered bigger 18-49 audiences than any cable or broadcast competition in the time period.  Additionally, Jimmy Fallon outscored CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman” in adults 18-49 despite starting an hour later than “Late Show.”

For the week, Conan delivered bigger audiences than “Late Show” and the ABC lineup of “Nightline” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in all other key ratings categories, including adults, men and women 18-34; men and women 18-49; and adults, men and women 25-54.  Jimmy Fallon out-delivered CBS’s “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” and “Kimmel” in all key ratings categories as well.
