Chio returns to Philly
CCME Philadelphia’s Mix 106.1 (WISX-FM) announced the return of “Chio In The Morning,” beginning 5/1. Chio, along with co-host Nicole, will host weekday mornings from 6-9:00 a.m. The show will include music from the 90’s to now, entertainment news, fun topics and Chio’s signature “War of the Roses.”
Chio spent many years hosting the morning show at sister station Q102 (WIOQ) as well as Beasley’s WRDW in Philadelphia and several stations in San Diego. Chio has awarded over $110,000 dollars to needy families in the Delaware Valley through his charitable foundation, “Chio’s Christmas Wish.” He has been a Big Brother with Big Brothers and Sisters of Camden, New Jersey
“Chio knows Philly inside and out and no one is more passionate about his listeners,” said Brian Check, Vice President of Programming, CCME Philadelphia. “We’re thrilled to have him back!”
“There are very few names in Philadelphia radio that bring instant smiles and have done so for some many years like Chio,” said Richard Lewis, Market President, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Philadelphia. “He is the Rocky of Philly Radio! He’s up, he’s back and ready to fight to get people through their morning trip to work.”
Chio left Beasley’s Wired 96.5 WRDW-FM Philadelphia in late 2012. He was a member of the “Chio, Shila and Tingle in the Morning Show,” which airs from 6:00 – 10:00 a.m. each weekday morning. Chio first made his fame at Beasley’s Power 96.5 in Miami.
