Charter Kicking Tires at Bright House?

Charter CommunicationsThat’s what Bloomberg is reporting. It would amount to a consolation prize for Charter after losing out to Comcast in the bidding war for Time Warner Cable.

Talks are said to have been in progress, very quietly, for months.

Further, the general outlines of a stock deal have been reached.

Bright House serves up cable services to some 2.5M subscribers and Bloomberg said its price could be in the $12B range.

Whatever the status of talks, it is said to be highly unlikely that any announcements will be made until the fate of the Comcast/TWC is decided by federal regulators.

Executives at both companies are maintaining total silence on the talks.
