The Protecting the Rights of Musicians Act is being put into play by Anna Eshoo (D-CA) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN). It would tie television retransmission consent to radio performance royalties and is being actively opposed by the NAB.
The bill would also prohibit the FCC from “imposing radio chip mandates for mobile devices.”
