A Puerto Rico-based operator of a trio of AM synchronous boosters has lost his appeal to the FCC to keep what the Commission has authorized as test operations on the air.
Wifredo G. Blanco-Pi is the operator of WA2XPA in Arecibo, WI2XSO in Mayaguez, and WI3XSO in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. These are boosters designed to provide “fill-in” coverage to two News/Talkers he owns: WAPA-AM 680 in San Juan and simulcast partner WISO-AM 1260 in Ponce. Together, the stations are part of a three-station “WAPA Radio” cadena that also includes WGYA-AM 1590 in Guayama, Puerto Rico.
